The hyperstar applet got "Slashdotted". In the 24-hour period beginning Monday August 5 at 4:52 AM (US Eastern time), that single web page received 34,913 hits, with dogfeathers.com receiving a total of 44,594 page hits (5.95 Gbytes of traffic). As far as I know, my web host was able to gracefully handle the flood of requests, which quickly subsided at the end of the 24-hour period.

Here's the slashdot.com article: "See 4-D Space With 3-D Glasses". (Go down to the 3rd item from the bottom.)

Of the 34,913 visitors, only two sent me email. One was an offer to help me rewrite the applet using Microsoft's .NET (haha).
